JOB TITLE: HIRE Minnesota Coalition Organizer
LOCATION: Twin Cities Metro

TYPE: Full Time / 40 hours    DEADLINE: Open Until Filled

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position provides coalition organizing support for HIRE Minnesota’s central planning team, broader coalition, working groups, leadership development and outreach efforts.

Specific duties: 
• Support HIRE leadership in developing and executing campaign plans.
• Staff HIRE’s central planning committee.
• Support HIRE leadership in staffing Green Jobs & Hiring Equity and Infrastructure & Hiring Equity working groups.
• Maintain regular communications with the broader membership, deepen coalition relationships and coordinate quarterly coalition meetings.
• Help HIRE members implement leadership development trainings.
• Deepen and expand existing organizing relationships. 
• Create HIRE action alerts and coalition updates. Manage HIRE organizational systems such as the database and website.
• Maintain HIRE visibility in the community through coordinating our presence at community events, presentations, etc.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Community and/or coalition organizing experience including campaign and event planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work well as a team member, build relationships, and coordinate diverse groups.
• Excellent personal accountability, problem-solving, self-motivation and follow through skills.
• Demonstrated passionate commitment to anti-racism and to environmental, racial and economic justice. 
• Familiarity with different organizing cultures and experience in bringing stakeholders from different organizational cultures together to take common action.
• Ability to create and execute plans. Ability to flexibly adjust plans in response to rapid external shifts.
• Demonstrated capacity to think logically, manage details, set and manage deadlines, and to multitask.

This is a position at the Alliance for Metropolitan Stability. The Alliance provides coalition organizing support to campaigns, such as HIRE Minnesota, which advance racial, economic, and environmental justice. The Alliance itself is a coalition of grassroots organizations which builds community support for equitable growth and urban development patterns in the Twin Cities metro region.
