Transit Equity
The Alliance believes our transportation policy can bring specific benefits to local communities through access to jobs, job creation and connection to affordable housing.
HIRE Minnesota
Another road construction season in Minnesota. Have you ever taken a good look at the people hard at work along our state highway construction projects? If you did, you might notice that they are mostly white men. HIRE Minnesota is trying to change that this summer, challenging the Minnesota Department of Transportation to meet its goal to hire 6 percent women and 11 percent people of color! Join us!
Stops for Us
In a major victory, the city of St. Paul announced yesterday that all three missing Central Corridor LRT stops would be built! Congratulations to the Stops for Us coalition, which has been fighting for this for years! Check out a recent video of FTA Administrator Peter Rogoff talking about how community organizing helped achieve this victory.
Racial Equity Impact Policy
The Alliance and our campaign partners are working with the city of Saint Paul to pass the nation’s first Racial Equity Impact Policy. Our policy would require proposed subsidized, large-scale developments in the city to undergo an analysis of how they would directly affect communities of color based on a number of equity criteria.
Community Benefit Agreements
The Alliance has been a leader in Minnesota in promoting the use of community benefits agreements to link public investment directly to community needs.
